Damage reported from storms in AL

Tree fell on house on Valley View Drive in Huntsville.

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- Damage was reported in several areas as a line of strong storms moved through North Alabama.

Power lines were knocked down at Whitesburg Drive and Lily Flagg in Huntsville Thursday afternoon. The lines fell on top of a car at the intersection and the driver was trapped inside. Huntsville Utilities workers helped her get out of the car.

A tree fell on a house on Valley View drive near Dell in Huntsville, causing heavy damage. The National Weather Service said they will visit the area Friday to survey the damage.

Power lines and a tree were down across Dug Hill Road in Madison County. Traffic was blocked for a short time while crews worked to clear the damage.

Flooding was reported in Hartselle, Athens, and parts of Madison as heavy rain moved through the area.

Arab Police hunt for tractor thieves

Arab, AL (WAFF) - Arab Police are hoping that a couple of surveillance photos will lead them to a pair of tractr thieves.

Around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10th, two men rolled into the Coker Tractor property on Highway 231 in Arab. The men were covering their faces as they loaded a green & yellow TS Gator and 54 inch lawn mower deck onto a truck owned by the business.

High grade meth seized in Jackson Co. raid

Scottsboro, AL (WAFF) - Jackson County drug agents made a significant bust Tuesday night on Highway 71 in the Pisgah community.

According to Sheriff Chuck Phillips, investigators found about 30 grams of ice meth, along with marijuana, Alprazolam, Diazepam, and Clonazepam.

63 year old Gerald Gunter was taken into custody and charged with meth trafficking and drug possession. He was free on bond from a previous drug arrest in January, when deputies found 21 grams of meth on his property.

Prosecutors are seeking to revoke Gunter's bond.

1 arrested on drug charges after traffic stop

JACKSON COUNTY, AL (WAFF)-

Investigators found a
large amount of drugs after stopping a vehicle for a traffic stop.

It happened on Highway 53
at County Road 100 in Dutton in Jackson County.

Authorities said they found
hydrocodone, diazepam, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Investigators arrested Julia Lynell Keeney, 22 of Fort Payne.

Keeney was charged with illegal possession of prescription drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and obstruction of justice. Keeney remains in
the Jackson County Jail on $20,500 bond.

Etowah County man arrested with marijuana, spice

Etowah County man arrested with marijuana, spice

Scottsboro, AL (WAFF) - An Etowah County man is being held in the Jackson County Jail after he was busted with marijuana and synthetic pot on Monday night.

It happened at the Delta Express Station on Highway 35 near the DeKalb County line.

Investigators stopped a car being driven by Daheem Rice when they found the drugs.

He's being held on $3,500 bond.
