Jackson County man arrested after bizarre crime spree | Crime
Scottsboro, AL (WAFF) - A man from Hollywood is in the Jackson County Jail, facing theft and robbery charges after a pair of bizarre incidents in Stevenson and Woodville on Tuesday.
According to deputies, 30 year old Jason Freeman was a passenger in a car travelling on Highway 117 when he suddenly grabbed the steering wheel, attacked the driver, and demanded that the driver pull over. Freeman took the driver's keys and cell phone, then drove him to a cemetery in Long Island, where he forced the victim out. Freeman then drove off, leaving the driver behind with minor injuries.
A few hours later, the victim found his car outside a home on County Road 214 in Woodville. Around the same time, the homeowner called deputies to report an unwelcomed guest at the home. That guest was Jason Freeman. Woodville Police and Jackson County deputies rushed to the scene, but Freeman fled into the woods. He was found a short time later in an abandoned mobile home down the road.
The victim was given his vehicle back and Freeman is being held on $7,500 bond in the Jackson Coutny jail.
