Activists to speak in Jackson Co. about nuclear power | Events

Anti-nuclear activists are stepping up to talk with neighborhood leaders as TVA's Bellefonte Nuclear Plant inches toward being operational.

A representative of the Union of Concerned Scientists will speak to the Jackson County Commission and Scottsboro City Council on Monday.

Activists said they want to provide local leadership a better understanding of nuclear power issues.

One of the group's spokesmen previously worked at Browns Ferry in Limestone County.
