State Troopers ask drivers to be cautious when getting pulled over
News

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- Alabama State Troopers are asking drivers to keep their guard up as Mississippi law enforcement looks for a police impersonator who's already shot and killed two people.

Both shootings happened near casinos in Tunica and happened in the early morning hours. The victims didn't know each other.

If you're unsure if you're getting stopped by a real officer, there are things you can do to protect yourself.

State Troopers say to only pull over for red or blue lights.

If you are still concerned, put on your flashers, slow down, and pull over once you get to a well lit area.

And don't forget, you can always call 911 to make sure the officer behind you is legit.

State Troopers are quick to add that you shouldn't wait too long before pulling over. You should stop at the first well lit, populated area you reach.
