Schools meet with state superintendent to discuss uniform calendars

Schools meet with state superintendent to discuss uniform calendars

The Jackson County Board of Education will wait on the state superintendent, Dr. Tommy Bice, to discuss the calendar for the upcoming school year.

The school board wants to see what options Dr. Bice can give them for the school calendar, but Dr. Kenneth Harding, superintendent, feels the changes will not impact the schools greatly.

Harding said they still have a lot of questions about planning for inclement weather, but they will make their decisions after meeting with Dr. Bice.

The school board decided not to make a decision about next year's calendar before getting guidance from the State Board of Education.
