HUNTSVILLE, AL (WBRC) - Whether you love braving the crowds in the stores on Black Friday or facing your computer so you can shop with your mouse, there are savings to grab.
"There are about 10,000 new deals everyday from Amazon to Groupon," said Daniel de Grandpre, founder of dealnews.com.
He says his website will do the price comparisons, the checking and double checking and all of the hard work for you.
"When we see a potential Black Friday deal, we check to see if that item has been cheaper recently and if it has, then it's not that good a deal," said de Grandpre.
The company headquarters is in Huntsville.
"We have a staff working 24/7 on Thanksgiving and Black Friday and Cyber Monday," said de Grandpre. "We will be pushing the deals all the time."
If you want to shop in stores, plan ahead so that you won't get distracted.
"You got to get there early and you got to know what you want," suggested de Grandpre. "The hope is you're going to stock up on batteries, buy some Tide and before you know it, they've made their profit margin back."
He suggests only going to stores for things you can't buy online. Most websites offer free shipping, so the price is comparable.
Planning will also be helpful if you're shopping online because you'll have more options.
"One of the greatest things about the internet for Black Friday, it reduced the barriers for entry," said de Grandpre. "Used to be only the big stores who could afford big ads in the newspaper and now anyone can do it."
Both in store and online shoppers can expect deals on Apple products.
"Apple has one sale a year on Black Friday, so if you're looking to buy an Apple product, the only day to buy is on Black Friday," said de Grandpre.
According to dealnews.com, the big seller predictions for this year will be televisions, laptops and tablets.
"This is the year of the tablet, whether they're reading a ebook or playing Angry Birds, people love a tablet," said de Grandpre.
Once you know what to buy and how best to get it, let the Black Friday shopping begin.
